This January RYRvirtual celebrates 1 year of operations, and to mark this we are having a Tour of Europe Event from Friday January 21 to Sunday January 30, flying 1 leg from 1900Z each night, with ATC arranged for each leg.

2011 Men’s World Ice Hockey championships will take place in Slovakia
from 29 April 2011 to 15 May 2011 (the final game). Slovakia will host
the event with games being played in the Slovak cities Bratislava and
Košice. vACC Slovakia would like to invite all pilots to join us during
the championships opening event on 27 April (Wednesday) from 16.00
Zulu to 21.00 Zulu. Full coverage will be provided in Bratislava
(LZIB), Košice (LZKZ) and of course at Bratislava radar (LZBB CTR).
From 17.00 Zulu to 20.00 Zulu each day during the hockey championships
at least Bratislava radar (LZBB CTR) should cover Slovakia in order to
provide pilots with professional navigation and comfort. We expect
arrivals of involved teams and a lot of hockey fans as well.

VATASIA’s largest annual event, Eastern Wind, has made its way back.
Eastern Wind 2011 will span the August 26th weekend, kicking off on Friday (Aug 26) evening and winding down on Sunday (Aug 28) night. This year we will feature an extended route that connects a series of main aviation hubs in the VATASIA airspace, not to mention a comprehensive coverage of excellent ATC service at each airport.
Since 2011 marks the 10th anniversary of VATSIM and VATASIA, to celebrate this special occasion, this year’s EW will feature a contest whose winners will receive prizes from our generous sponsors. Details and rules for the contest will be published on VATASIA website and VATSIM forum at a later time.
So whether you’re are recreational pilot who flies a Cessna 172 or a four-stripe commander of a jumbo jet, gear yourself up with charts and coffee and be ready to visit our 14 airports in one weekend.

We would like to invite VATRUS Virtual Airlines and other partner Virtual Airlines to join us for our Friday Night Ops on the 23rd of September. We will be staffing up Maui and Honolulu for this event. Come visit us at the airport surrounded by mountainous terrain, the beautiful Pacific Ocean, and of course some of the largest volcanoes in the world. A simple short hop from places like Charles Lindbergh’s Grave, Honolulu, Hilo, and Lihue; it’s time to break out your large or small ‘craft and fly on into Maui!
Have some fun flying in from the mainland USA, or maybe doing some inter-island flying. Either way, Maui is packing a Friday Night Operations experience like never before. IFR, Inter-Island, or Mainland flights are all appreciated. Be prepared to be amazed.

Once a year VATIL organizes a special event which brings all of our virtual air traffic controllers together to provide ATC services for the Israeli airspace in VATSIM.
This special event combines special equipment that is organized in such a way which exposes our virtual air traffic controllers to a simulated real word ATC environment.
This year our event starts on Thursday 22.12.11 14:00z and Ends Sunday 25.12.11 22:00z.
During these days we have organized 3 main phases :
23.12 — Virtual Airlines Day — We hope to see «waves» of VATSIM VAs flying to ISRAEL.
