UPDATE NOTES

This update adds more activity to the Royal Apron and the Cargo Apron, making both more realistic and up to date with real world specifications. Includes updated landclass file meant to replace all landclass files for the VATJO Sceneries which solves Crash to Desktop errors, which were caused by scenery conflicts.

This update also gives instructions for FS9/FSX users on how to fix the "black box" problem caused by the scenery not containing a full library of textures and bgl files that were inherent to FS9.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Note: Please follow these instructions closely. It is further advised that you download the VATJO Scenery Package at http://vatjo.net, which includes sceneries for Amman Marka, Aqaba King Hussein, and Mafraq Airports. This file is required as it contains the necessary librarys that solve the "black box" issue for the OJAI Scenery. Please download this file before continuing with this installation. You can download the file directly at this link (38.8MB): http://www.vatjo.net/downloads/VATJO-FULL-PACKAGE-FS9-FSX.zip. Please follow the installation instructions contained in the VATJO-FULL-PACKAGE-FS9-FSX.zip file before continuing.

1. Unzip this archive to a temporary directory.

2. Take the VATJO-OJAI.bgl file and move to your Addon Scenery\VATJO-OJAI\scenery folder and replace the existing VATJO-OJAI.bgl file.

3. In your Addon Scenery\VATJO-OJAI\scenery directory, find the OJAI-LANDCLASS.bgl file and DELETE IT. It is no longer needed.

4. Take the AMMAN-CITY-LC.bgl file and move it to your Addon Scenery\Scenery folder. This is intended to replace the OJAI-LANDCLASS.bgl and will solve any errors you are getting with regards to g2d.dll and terrain.dll, as well as any other scenery related errors.

5.In your Addon Scenery\OJAM\Scenery folder, find the AMMAN-CITY-LC.bgl file and DELETE IT. It is no longer needed.

6. In your Addon Scenery\VATJO-OJMF\Scenery folder, find the MAFRAQ.bgl file and DLETE IT. It is no longer needed.

Restart Flight Simulator 9 and enjoy. This will solve your issues! If issues persist, please email me directly at director@vatme.net and I will be happy to assist.

VATJO OJAI SCENERY V1.0 FAQ

1. Q: The taxiway layout seems odd - the taixway signs are in the middle of the taxiway and the gates do not match up. What is the problem?

    1. A: This is caused by a scenery conflict as a result of more than one AFCAD file present for the facility. Check your Addon Scenery/Scenery folder to make sure that there is only ONE AFCAD file for OJAI. Please delete any old AFCAD files for OJAI - the only one that should be in your Addon Scenery folder for OJAI is AF2_OJAI-MF-V2.bgl.

2. Q: I have installed the scenery and yet, nothing shows up. There are no gates, no buildings, and no cars. What is the problem?

    2. A: This is a result of having the VATJO-OJAI-EXCLUSION layer ABOVE the VATJO-OJAI layer. Please make sure that on your scenery menu in FS9 or FSX that the VATJO-OJAI scenery layer is ABOVE the VATJO-OJAI-EXCLUSION layer. The VATJO-OJAI-EXCLUSION layer is meant to "exclude," or "remove" the old, default OJAI Scenery.

3. Q: I have installed the scenery and everything works fine, but my framerates are going down. What is the problem?

    3. A: To save on system resources and frame rates, this scenery uses default FS9 and FSX buildings which are included in the bgl files that came with the scenery. To improve performance, open your display settings in FS9 and or FSX. In FS9, click on the "Display Settings," and move to the "Scenery" tab. Please make sure that the Terrain Texture Size is below high. Next, click on the "Hardware" tab and reduce the "Global Max Texture Size." This will greatly improve performance with this scenery. You shoudl also reduce the Target Frame rate to somewhere around 35 frames per second - this will free up more system resources and improve performance. Please see this link for more help: http://www.scenerysolutions.com/doc/performanceTuning.pdf . In FSX, on your opening screen, click on "Settings," and then at the bottom of the display settings, cilck on "Customize." Set your target framerate somewhere in between 30 and 35 frames per second. Then, reduce the Global Texture Resolution size. These two steps will greatly assist in improving performance. You can find more tips here: http://www.fsstation.com/articles/flight-simulator-x-performance-tweaks.html .

4. Q: Do I need to remove any old OJAI Scenery and AFCAD files to use this scenery?

    4. A: Yes. Please remove any prior OJAI Scenery Installation - it will conflict with this scenery.

5. Q: Some buildings are completely black and have no textures to them - what is this caused by?

    5. A: This may be a result of FSX not having the textures for the buildings included. Download the VATJO Scenery package located here: http://www.vatjo.net/downloads/VATJO-FULL-PACKAGE-FS9-FSX.zip. This WILL solve the problem. Please follow the installation instructions provided.
