PSC9X - Photo Scenery Converter FS9 to FSX v0.05
================================================

The utility "Photo Scenery Converter FS9 to FSX" is intended for conversion of the photosceneries created initially for FS9 to the native FSX format.
Usage of the given utility increases load time speed of the scenery and increases loading speed textures during flight. Problem of black edges of coast lines are solved after conversion.

For usage of the given utility it is necessary installed FSX SDK, or, at least, the utility resample.exe from its set.

Restrictions of the given version:
----------------------------------
- are supported only FS9 photoscenery tiles with 256x256 resolution;
- are supported only MSFS BMP-tiles with DXT1, DXT3, DXT5 compression;
- only summer photoscenery textures are supported (*Su.bmp);
- not all exceptional situations are processed;
- are supported output tiles in the LOD size from 13 (the size input tiles) to 8.

Lacks:
------
- In some places at water, probably, will "appear through" default scenery and/or coast lines (the solution is planned to find in one of the future versions).

Usage of the given version of the utility allows converting almost all France VFR photosceneries. At present is checked conversion of sceneries FlightAlpes Nord, FlightAlpes Sud, FlightCorse, FlightRiviera, La Martinique.

The operating instruction:
--------------------------
1. Launch the utility and select in an appropriate field the directory of sources, having specified the directory "Texture" the photoscenery (for example, FSX_ROOT\Addon Scenery\FlightAlpesNordBP\Texture in case of conversion of scenery FlightAlpes Nord);
2. Specify in an appropriate field an assignment directory - a folder in which the intermediate files for the further compilation will be placed with the help resample.exe;
3. Specify the desirable size of the output photoscenery; the size is measured in LOD and in the given version the sizes LOD 8 (by default) - 13 are supported only;
4. Specify compression quality of the output photoscenery (100 - the highest quality, but the greatest size of the scenery);
5. Push button "Convert" and wait the conversion terminations;
6. After the conversion termination pass in the assignment directory, select all received .inf-files and a method drag&drop transfer to the resample.exe file, being in subdirectory Terrain SDK installed FSX SDK, and wait the terminations of compile process of fragments of the scenery;
7. Delete (or save in the separate directory for the subsequent recovery of the initial version) the files which are coming to an end on Su.bmp (*Su.bmp), from the directory selected from step 1;
8. Delete (or save in the separate directory for the subsequent recovery of the initial version) files of a binding of the photoscenery (for scenery France VFR it is the files beginning on "img _" (img_*.bgl)) from the appropriate directory "Scenery" (for example FSX_ROOT\Addon Scenery\FlightAlpesNordBP\Scenery in case of conversion of scenery FlightAlpes Nord);
9. In the directory specified in step 8 place the bgl-files received in the directory of assignment after step 6;
10. Launch FSX and fly.
