Texan At-6G Checklist

Pre Flight
[ ] All systems OFF
[ ] Pitot cover- Removed
[ ] Wheel Chocks-Removed
[ ] Control Surfaces - Check

Before Engine Start
[ ] Harness - Check
[ ] Battery Switch - ON
[ ] Fuel Gauges - Check 
[ ] Fuel Selector - Reserve tank(will display center2 in tool tips)
[ ] Altimeter - Set 
[ ] Clock - Check & set
[ ] Landing Gear Lever - Down Position
[ ] Flap lever -Up Position
[ ] Trim Wheels - both centered
[ ] Gear Down lights - On
[ ] Brakes - Check & Set
[ ] Carb Air -Cold

Engine Start
[ ] Fuel Pressure - 2psi or above 6 to 8 strokes of wobble Pump  
[ ] Mixture & Pitch- Full Forward
[ ] Throttle - 10% or 1/8 of an inch open
[ ] Prime - Check CHT prime to suit  
[ ] Mags -set to both
[ ] Starter - Engage and hold on till engine start

Warm up
[ ] Throttle - Set 1000rpm
[ ] Oil Pressure - Check In Green Arc after 15 sec
[ ] Fuel Pressure - Check In Green Arc
[ ] Hydraulic Pressure - Check
[ ] Generator Switch - On
[ ] Avionics Switch - On
[ ] Amp Gauge - Positive Charge
[ ] Radio's - On & Set
[ ] Pitot Heat - On if Required
[ ] CHT - Check
[ ] Prop - Cycle several times
[ ] Mag Check - Max diff 50rpm
[ ] Suction -Check min 3.75
[ ] Throttle - Idle
[ ] Directional Gyro - Check and Set

Taxying
[ ] Unlock Tail wheel by pushing and holding the stick forward.
[ ] Check Brakes
[ ] S turn to check Forward
[ ] If delayed before take off clear engine by opening throttle against the brakes to 25 in HG (1900rpm)


Takeoff
[ ] Lock Tail Wheel - stick back to neutral
[ ] Instruments - Check in the green 
[ ] Brakes - On
[ ] Throttle Up Slowly (3 to 5sec) till 36 inHg manifold pressure
[ ] Brakes - Off 
[ ] Keep centered using small rudder adjustments
[ ] Dont attempt to lift tail to soon


Climb

[ ] Gear lever - Up
[ ] Flap lever - Up if applicable
[ ] *Throttle - 32.5inHg*
[ ] *Pitch - 2200rpm*
[ ] CHT - Check
[ ] Oil Temp - Check
[ ] Fuel Selector - Left tank
[ ] Trim - adjust to hands off
        *Caution*
Always Reduce manifold pressure first, then rpm.Move controls slowly

Cruise
[ ] Throttle - use 27inHg and 1700 rpm or 28-1800. With proper leaning of peak (50-100 degrees rich of peak) will yield  23 to 25 gallons per hour
[ ] Trim for Cruise - Neutral trim is 155 to 160 mph in cruise config
[ ] Fuel Selector - switch from left to right tank at timed intervals to keep aircraft balanced 
 
Landing
[ ] Fuel Selector - Reserve tank(will display center2 in tool tips)
[ ] Mixture - Full Rich
[ ] Prop - 2000rpm
[ ] Reduce Speed - 150mph IAS
[ ] Gear Lever - Down
[ ] Reduce Speed - 125mph IAS
[ ] Flap Lever - Down as needed on Final approach after turn into field has been made
[ ] Flap Lever -Full down after aircraft has slowed to 100 to 95 mph IAS
[ ] Trim - adjust to maintain correct gliding speed
[ ] Speed over the fence - 90 mph 
[ ] Touchdown Speed - 62 to 65mph

After landing
[ ] Retract flaps, taxi to parking position

Shutdown
[ ] Prop - full back 
[ ] Throttle - 1200 rpm  wait Aprox 1min
[ ] Mixture - idle cut off
[ ] Throttle -Full Open
[ ] Mag  - Off
[ ] Fuel Selector - Off
[ ] Electrical Switches - Off
[ ] Trim Wheels - both centered
[ ] Trottle - Closed
