FARCHILD C-123 K "PROVIDER"

 

The version 3 of legendary transport - veteran  of Vietnam war well known from cinema " Air America " (M.Gibson&R.Downey). In the new version the completely changed visual model with animation by the pilots and  animation by a unloading of Cargo. Is completely processed VC - completely working levers and animation gauges high dpi, completely animation co-pilot. Panel. 4 textures - Air America, FAV, USAF (camo), ZH-Cargo virtual domestic. Are added 4 custom effects - drop of cargo box, drop of pigs with the parachute  (remember a cinema?), start of engines and effect of a dust at motion on ground airfields.

1. MODEL

 

The given package(packet) are developed 2 such as model:

 1.... Ñ123\model\ - model for Air America, FAV, ZH-Cargo domestic;

 2..... Ñ123\model.us\ - model for USAF (camo).

Both of model are identical, but differs by  that the model 1 has a dynamic luster and unloading of cargo (barrel), the model 2 does not have luster and the unloading of cargo is submitted by departure army jeep Willis. Install of models standard for FS9.

 


2. PANEL

 To regret, I not am by the expert for gauges, therefore for the panel are used different gauges include default gauges from Douglas, Beech, Cessna.

To this - MOST IMPORTANT - for correct installation panel:

        1. - to unpack contents folders C123zhv3\Panel\Gau.zip in main folders

 FS9\Gauges\

        2. - IMPORTANT check up - if in a folder FS9\Gauges\ default sets gauges from folders DouglasDC-3\Panel\Douglas_DC3.cab,

                                    \Beech_Baron.cab

                                    \ bendix_king...... gau

these files are in standard folders FS9\Gauges \, except for Douglas_DC3.cab, this file needs to be copied from DouglasDC-3\Panel\ in FS9\Gauges\. In this case all devices on the panel and on VC at you install the panel at you is correct also should look how on picture below:

 

 

 

 


3. VIRTUAL COCPIT

 

Very much it is important to carry out the installation gauges as mentioned above in section PANEL -

And you will have completely worker VC. The devices have high dpi (1024x1024), all handles and levers(arms), completely animation co-pilot work.

 

 

4. ANIMATION

The following keys animation are realized:

1. Opening forward doors - default Shift+E+1 - I recommend to switch to other key (at me for example Tab+1). (To use only on ground!). 

2. Opening backward doors - default Shift+E+2 - I recommend to switch to other key (at me for example Tab+2). (To use only on ground!).

3. Opening cargo doors (rampa) - is necessary to nominate a key as TAILHOOK.

4. Unloading of freights (barrel(roll) or departure Willis) - key "/". (To use only on ground!).

5. Opening cover of engines, wheel stoppers and the service ladder - is necessary to nominate a key as FOLDINGWINGS.

6. Drop cargo box or pigs with the parachute - key "I" (smoksystem) - on pressing of a key - drop 10 boxes - for repeated drop - twice to press "I"  (Remember to open door cargo!).

7.Open/Close cocrit windows – Shift+Cntr+V / Shift+Cntr+C

 

 

 

5.EFFECTS

 

Are added 4 custom effects

1. Startup engine (fx_st_c123.fx)

 2. Drop on the parachute of cargo boxes (fx_C123box.fx)

3. Drop on the parachute of pigs (fx_C123pig.fx).

4. Effect of a dusty cloud at motion of an airplane on ground airfields

                                                  (fx_C123dust.fx).

For the correct installation of effects:

1. Copy contents folder C123zhv3\effect in folder FS9\effect\

2. Copy contents folder C123zhv3\effect\texture in folder FS9\effect\texture. THE NOTES: effect of drop of cargo with the parachute is connected  In aircraft.cfg in section SMOKESYSTEM. By default the effect is connected  (fx_C123box.fx) - if you want to switch to reset(drop) of pigs - make the following:

To change by places effects:

The effect of a dust is developed for the greater realness at motion of an airplane

On a ground. In real life on any unpaved airfield, even with a rich grass by activity of engines there is a cloud of a dust. I for a long time wanted to develop such effect (it is very well realized in simulator " IL-2 Sturmovik ") but in FS-9 unfortunately this effect is not present. Unfortunately my effect does not depend on a level of activity of engines, but I hope it(he) it is pleasant simmers - to the fans VFR. If is not present - that change in aircraft.cfg a line on standard dirt-effect:

6. SOUND

 

Unfortunately - I not the expert in sounds - therefore here is registered a sound default Douglas. I can only advise to apply sounds from others freeware piston engines - I shall use magnificent sounds from Beech D-18 or J-52 (by P.Primavesi).

 

7. AIRDYNAMIC

 

It is very difficult to create good dynamics for the large piston airplane - offered for Beech and for Douglas first does not approach - for a very light aeroplane and second for an airplane such as taildragger - he very bad at taxiing on ground. Therefore I have created a mix of two types of dynamics - piston and partially turbo. It has turned out to me it seems very much not bad - airplane very obedient and manoeuvrable but there is ONE FEATURE - he requires increased of trim - during takeoff necessarily establish a trim tab of elevator +8 - +9,

During takeoff with short of unpaved airfields - +10. After take-off the trim tabs can be established up to +24 when the airplane will gain speed up to 200 and reset the flaps - are possible are to reduced by(with) a trim tab up to normal cruise of flight +12.

On landing trim tabs are possible are to reduced up to 0 - by(with) speed on landing it is possible to reduce up to 100 -110 mph - in rest all as usually.

 

7. TROUBLESHUTING

 

The airplane was tested on Pentium-4 2.8GG with a videocard Radeon 9250 128mg, joystic Logitech Extreme 3d Wingman with handltwist. All works normally - but sometimes black colours disappear is easily to correct following:

In the menu to open options Options-Setting- Diplay-Hardware and to press the button Reset Default - after that it is possible to establish value Mip-mappimg up to 6 and above - works normally.
