FMC INITIALIZATION
IDENT page is displayed at initialization. Verify engine type and navigation data times. In real aircraft operations are illegal if the navigation data is expired.
LOAD or CREATE a flightplan using the standard FSX process. If needed move the aircraft to the desired airport. QUIT FSX planner. The flightplan is now in the FMC.
Select ROUTE page.
Select INDex. Then select POS INIT page. Verify IRS positions are displayed or go to the overhead and correctly position the 3 IRS buttons.
Click on INIT REF to display PERF INIT page.
Open THRUST LIM page. Select desired Takeoff thrust and arm desired Climb thrust. Normal is TO and CLB. Enter the ambiant temperature.
Open TAKEOFF page. Enter runway conditions D=DRY or W=WET.
Enter the END OF ACCELERATION height and THRUST REDUCTION height as desired. Normally 1000 and 2000 feet. NOTE: these are height above ground and NOT altitude!
The preflight is now complete and the FMC is ready to guide the aircraft laterally, vertically and speeds along the route, when LNAV and VNAV modes are engaged on the MCP.
As soon as you set VNAV ON, the FMC adjust the speed and engines for take off, OR you can take off manually and set LNAV, VNAV and AUTOPILOT ON when you want.

V1, VR and V2 SPEEDS
See the FMC which computes these
speeds according to the aircraft weight and runway status, dry or wet. Page TAKE
OFF of the FMC. When the computed speeds are validated, they are displayed
in the PFD window.
APPROACH
AND LANDING SPEEDS :
These speeds are variable according
to the aircraft weight and flaps position. They are computed by the FMC. Refer
to the APPROACH PAGE of the FMC.
