                                                                      ******** NOTAM ********

10 points of importance to always remember when operating your SECTIONF8 F-86E/F model :

#1. Some switches work with Left AND Right clicks.

#2. Handles need a mouse click AND a pull.

#3. Before Engine Start, call up the Power Cart first (refer to the Flight Manual and F86ef_ref.htm for details).

#4. Some gauges feature alternate instruments and/or digital readouts (click inside the gauge).

#5. 2D Panel Hot Spot Icons are automatically hidden ( hover cursor over right side of gunsight tray's edge ).

#6. This aircraft has a working hydraulics system, treat it bad and you'll loose it.
( refer to the Flight Manual and F86ef_ref.htm how to treat your F-86 well )

#7. Engine fire at start-up ? Use the fire-extinguisher ( right side switch console )!

#8. If hardware throttles and/or pedals are used, it is highly recommended to check proper calibration
(refer to F86ef_ref.htm for details. Section B Throttle Console, Point 8 ).

#9. The external fuel tanks can be dropped. You can only get them back on by selecting another aircraft model first.

#10.Your F-86 will be displayed in Parking State only if all systems are shut-down and Parking Brake is set
( if you want lively RBF flags, set up some wind ).

                                                                  ****** GENERAL INFO ******

This F-86E/F Sabre slatted wing version package is the first branch of our ongoing 'Sabre Project for FS9 and FSX.'
A first follow up package will consist of the F-86A model and 'hard-wing' versions of the F-86E and F.
Next will be the North American F-86A, E, and F models and their Canadair and Commonwealth equivalents.
The H, D, K and L versions are also in the planning as are their sea going sisters, the North-American FJ-2, 3, and 4 Furys.

A 'highflying' project ??..... You bet !! But we think we have a pretty good start with this F-86E and F model.

This package comes with only two skin texture sets to keep the file size reasonable but an additional skin texture set
package is available too, downloadable via the same place that you have downloaded this package from (sf86skns.zip).

We would like to stress again how important it is to read the accompanied F-86 Flight Manual and
Aircraft & Cockpit Reference document if you want to get everything out of this Cadillac of the Skies.
Hey, we have spent almost two years of hard labour of love into putting this puppy together for you,
surely you can find half an hour of your valuable time to spent on these documents. If you don't and just hop in to give it
'a quick spin' you'll probabely end up with an engine fire and you won't even know how to extinguish it. And that's only
one hazard you will likely encounter on a joyride with this hotrod.

'RTFM' is the keyword here, Ladies and Gentlemen, abide by it and you'll find your brand new Sabre a joy to fly,
ignore it and it will bite you !

                                                                   ****** FORCE FEEDBACK ******

For flightsimmers using a Force Feedback flightstick we have provided an alternate 'F86ef.air' file. To use this file go into your FS9Aircraft/SF8_F-86EF_Sabre folder, right click the 'F86ef.air' file you'll find in there and, from the drop-down menu select 'Rename' . Rename the file to something like 'F86ef_org.air'. ( if you want to return to using this .air file again later just remove '_org' from the name)

Now, to assign the special FF air file to your Sabre model right click the 'F86ef_FF.air' file you will also find in this folder and again choose 'Rename' from the drop-down menu. Remove '_FF' from the name so that the file now reads 'F86ef.air'

That's it, you're done and you can now fly your Sabre using your FF flightstick without breaking your hand.

                                                                     ****** KNOWN ISSUES ******

#1. On some systems a 'flickering' OBS Selector knob might turn up in the VC which will prevent you from dialing a required bearing. Up to now we have not been able to find a solution for this problem. If you'll find this to happen in your Sabre's VC too, either use the 2D panel VOR1 indicator or hit the 'V' key and subsequently the '+' or '-' keys to enter your required
bearing in the VC instrument.

#2. If you take a close-up look at the pilot figure you'll notice his O2 mask hose is not connected to the actual O2 system of the aircraft. Don't worry, he will survive. It proved very, very tricky to correctly animate the O2 hose with the end fitted to the aircraft's O2 system and the other end to follow the pilot's head movement. We fully aknowledge the fact that it looks pretty awkward to see the O2 hose inspecting the pilot's internals every now and then but we still opted to keep the pilot's head animation nontheless. The struggle to apply a rubber hose animation continues....

We hope you enjoy your brand new SECTIONF8 F-86E/F Sabre as much as we have enjoyed creating it !
